The Department of Music provides an opportunity for music enthusiasts, who meet the minimum academic qualifications to pursue their study in music. The Institutes full-time course encompasses both Western classical & Eastern aspects of music.
The course emphasizes the pursuit of expressional skills in voice, composition, keyboard and string instruments as well as an in-depth understanding of theory and principles of music. The curriculum also covers the study of Computer Music and Music Business.
The study and appreciation of ethnic music also forms part of the curriculum. The incorporation of local cultural contents in music composition and a higher level of musical craft performances are encouraged.
