Aishah studied Diplôme de Pâtisserie at Sunway Le Cordon Bleu.

What research did you do before entering your current institution?

From the beginning, I knew I wanted to be a baker/chef. I love French pastry so much so I decided to look for a place to gain knowledge and skills. Later on, I found out that some of the great chefs used to study here as well such as Dato’ Fazley who has been awarded for his great achievement and the talented Dato’ Dr Chef Wan as well who still attends classes here at Le Cordon Bleu. I went through their website and I was convinced to choose this institution.

What attracted you to pick the institution?

First of all, this institution offered a Diploma for only 9 months of studying and then it is a hands-on course. The equipment and ingredients used are no exception as they only use high-quality products. Other than that, Le Cordon Bleu is a globally recognised institution so wherever you go in this world, you would be recognised which increase the chances of getting a job in the future.

How convenient is your campus?

The campus is amazing as everything you need is just a step away. There are many cafes and convenience stores right in front of the campus. The mall, hospital, train, buses etc are accessible via the canopy walk which will only take around 10 minutes without having to walk under the blazing hot sun.

How would you describe your course to a 17-year-old?

Diplôme de Pâtisserie is a 9 months hands-on course. After attending a demonstration class, you will attend a practical class to put your knowledge on a plate. The environment of the practical session is just like a real working environment to prepare you for the future. The chefs are all highly experienced and they will give a lot of useful tips. At the end, with the knowledge you have, you will be able to create more things.

What words of advice would you give to those who are intending to pursue the same course as you?

I was afraid to join this course since I’m not creative but the passion that I have for Pastry has led me here. As the saying goes ‘The more you know, the more you can create’. I’m now able to create and sell things with the knowledge I’ve gained. Follow your passion, you don’t know where it’ll lead you but you’ll eventually be there and it will pay off.
