My favourite hangout on campus is the library. I have a good environment to think clearly there. Moreover, there are a lot of books for me to refer to which help me complete my assignments.
Where did you first find out about the college you are attending now?
I discovered this college through their drawing competition when I was in secondary school.
My favourite homework assignment in college so far
I love all my homework from my interior design course as I get to learn how to design kiosks, residential buildings, office buildings, restaurants, and exhibition centres.
How did I choose my course?
As I am interested in interior design, one of the reasons why The One Academy was my first choice was because of its proximity from the college to my hometown. On top of that, my parents were very supportive of my decision to study here. My interest in interior design is influenced by my father who does a lot of woodwork.
What is my course like?
The skills that I learnt in school covered all the basics of interior design. For example, how to bring a concept to an interior and how to build by following your idea. Having already been exposed to the basics, I can use the skills I’ve learnt and leverage on them for my future work.
What are the best bits about my course?
The most interesting part of my course is concept development. In this, I can learn how to bring branding to the interior by using concept development.
What are my challenges?
For me, the most challenging part I face as a student is work submission deadlines. Therefore, I should manage my time very well to overcome this challenge.
What extra-curricular activities do I participate in?
Usually, I will spend my time jogging, playing badminton, going to the gym, attending fashion events or visiting exhibitions.
What am I looking forward to?
Upon completing my internship, I would like to work at an interior design firm to gain more experience and I would like to learn from A to Z. I hope to be a successful interior designer in the future.
What is my advice for students interested in taking up this course?
My advice to students is to try to do what you are really interested in and put all effort into it to reap amazing results.
