What research did you do before entering your current institution?
I did a lot of online research about fashion design schools before I made my decision. I found most of the information I needed through the websites of the institutions as well as all the social media pages. I also contacted a few people from the admission department to know more about the procedure of applying.
What attracted you to pick this institution?
I was attracted to this institution due to its history and its alumni and that made me more curious as to what their course offers. It stood out to me because I found that their course plan was interesting and the career options after graduating were diverse.
How convenient is your campus?
My campus is located right next to a shopping mall, which makes it easy for us to grab food and buy essentials whenever we need to. There are also lots of shops nearby that offer helpful services such as printing and providing stationery. It’s often hard to find a parking spot easily but it’s also very accessible via public transport. There is a BRT station right next to our campus as well as the availability of busses and Ubers.
How would you describe your course to a 17-year-old?
It’s a course that enables you to explore new techniques and ideas to approach the fashion world. But it’s also a very challenging one, so be prepared for a lot of work and dedication.
What words of advice would you give to those who are intending to pursue the same course as you?
Never procrastinate. Always ask for guidance if you need to. Never be afraid to express your true self and never hold back your ideas. Don’t be afraid of critique as it’s how we improve.
In your group of friends, what role do you play?
I would say everything, depending on the situation we’re in or the amount of deadlines we have. But mostly the joker.
Which movie or song title best describes your life?
Clueless, because you never know what will come your way or what opportunities are waiting for you. We will always be clueless when it comes to our future no matter how much we try to plan it.
