Entry Requirements*

  • SPM with minimum 5 Credits in the relevant subjects, minimum Credit in Advanced Mathematics (I) and either Additional Mathematics OR Physics, minimum Credit in ONE subject listed in Schedule B and minimum Pass in English Language

                                        OR

  • O Level with minimum 5 Grade C in the relevant subjects, minimum Grade C in Mathematics and either Mathematics-Additional OR Physics, minimum Grade C in ONE subject listed in Schedule B and minimum Grade E in English Language

                                        OR

  • UEC with minimum 3 Grade B in the relevant subjects, minimum Grade B in Advanced Mathematics (I) and either Advanced Mathematics (II) OR Physics, minimum Grade B in ONE subject  listed in Schedule B and minimum Grade C in English Language

                                        OR

  • TAR/ TAR UC relevant certificate

                                         OR

  • Other relevant Certificate accredited by MQA

Schedule B

SPM :Physics, Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Lukisan Kejuruteraan, Teknologi Kejuruteraa, Pengajian Kejuruteraan Mekanikal, Pengakian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik, Information & Communication Technology and any other relevant technical subjects.

O Level : Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics – Addiotional, Computer Science, Computer Studies, Design and Technology, Information and Communication Technology and any other relevant technical subjects.

UEC Qualification : Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics (II) and any other relevant technical subjects.

Note:

  1. SPM holders must have at least a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and SPM holders from Year 2013 onwards must have at least a pass in Sejarah.
  2. Students with 3-4 relevant credits in SPM/Grade C in 3-4 relevant subjects in O Level may be considered for the Diploma programmes offered at the Perak Branch Campus (PK), Johor Branch Campus (JH), Pahang Faculty Branch (PH) and Sabah Faculty Branch (SB).

Course Overview

Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest of engineering disciplines. It is referred as the 'mother' branch of engineering. Most of the inventions in the modern era are due to the contribution of knowledge and application of mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineers contribute their knowledge in the design, development, manufacture, testing of various engines, vehicles and machines, manufacturing plants, automated mechanical systems, etc. Graduates will be able to work in a wide spectrum of industries including manufacturing, oil & gas, automotive, chemical processing, air conditioning & refrigeration, agriculture and many others.
